Ebonyi State Ministry of Environment is located at Staff Development Centre, Abakaliki. The Ministry was created on 27th august, 2011.
Chief Moses Ogodoali Nomeh is the political Head of the Ministry. The Ministry is doing a lot to ensure that the Governor delivers on his promises to the people that he was going to make sure that Abakaliki look like a Modern Capital City.
Ministry of Environment believes that "cleanliness is next to godliness and a healthy nation is a wealthy nation". In view of this, the Ministry has ensured the proper waste and environmental management by providing sanitation disposal of all types of waste for the preservation of our environment. This has impacts on the lives of the citizenry in diverse ways.
VISION
The vision of the Ministry is the to find solutions to local, regional and global air pollution, accumulation and distribution of toxic waste, destruction and depletion of forests, soil and water, depletion of the ozone layer and emission of “green house” grasses threatening the survival of humans and thousands of other living spaces, the integrity of the earth and its bio-diversity, the security of the nation, and the heritage of future generations.
ABOUT US
Ebonyi state ministry of environment was created on 27th august, 2011, to tackle most of the environmental challenges in the state. This ministry, in line with the elements of SEED/NEEDS/MDG on environmental sustainable development has set out numerous targets to be achieved in order to reduce the unprecedented scale and speed of environmental pollutions, degradation and the depletion of natural resources.
