AN OVERVIEW OF THE MINISTRY

The Ministry of Internal Security, Border Peace and Conflict Resolution was established in 2007 courtesy of His Excellency the former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi to foster Peace in all parts of the State. The vision of His Excellency Engr. Chief David Umahi Nweze is to put in place a Peaceful and Secure State, with highly developed critical infrastructures and a Safe Haven for Investment and Capital Inflow and ranking amongst the five leading States in the Country.

The main Objectives of the Ministry was primarily to take care of various Conflicts arising from misunderstanding between individuals, groups, communities and ensuring that such Conflicts are resolved Peacefully. The Policy Thrust of the Ministry therefore bothers on Peace, Security, Conflict Prevention and Resolution.

Division:

The Ministry of Internal Security, Border Peace and Conflict Resolution is structured into four zones namely:
Ebonyi North, Ebonyi Central, Ebonyi South and Abakaliki Capital City zones respectively.
Each of the fours zones is headed by a Special Assistant on Internal Security and Utility as follows:

  1. Hon. Saint Nchekwube Aniakor - Special Assistant on Internal Security and Utility, Abakaliki Capital City.
  2. Hon. Benett Nwovu - Special Assistant on Internal Security and Utility, Ebonyi North Zone
  3. Hon. Onyekachi Nwoba - Special Assistant on Internal Security and Utility, Ebonyi Central Zone.
  4. Hon. Chika Godwin Nwangele - Special Assistant on Internal Security and Utility, Ebonyi South Zone.

VISION

To Institute a crime free environment where citizens of Ebonyi enjoys an absolute atmosphere of peace, freedom and tranquility that will guarantee economic prosperity

MISSION

To work in synergy with Security Agencies for effective maintenance of law and order in Ebonyi State.
