Ebonyi State Government Approves Free Internet Facilities Installation in Abakaliki

In a move aimed at catapulting Ebonyi State into the digital age, the state government has granted approval for the installation of free Internet facilities in key locations within Abakaliki Metropolis and its surrounding areas. This initiative is set to revolutionize the way residents and public institutions in the state access information and communication technology.

The selected locations for this ambitious project include the Governor's office at Centenary City, the historic Old Government House, EBSU Perm Site, EBSU Campus CAS, and EBSU Campus PRESCO. These strategic sites were carefully chosen to ensure that a broad spectrum of the population, including government officials and students, can benefit from this technological leap.

The official green light for this project was given during a meeting between the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communication Technology, Comrade Uzor Tochukwu Okorie, and a team from MTN, the telecommunications giant responsible for the installation. Commissioner Uzor Tochukwu Okorie affirmed the government's commitment to supporting MTN in bringing this vision to fruition.

According to Comrade Uzoh, the installation of free Internet facilities is expected to have a profound and positive impact on both government operations and public institutions. He emphasized that this development would seamlessly integrate the state into the global digital community, opening up a world of opportunities for residents. The benefits of improved access to Information and Communication Technology are bound to enhance various aspects of daily life in Ebonyi State.

Comrade Uzoh urged the MTN team to expedite their work, emphasizing the importance of completing the installation on schedule. He highlighted the significance of this project in advancing the state's technological infrastructure.

In response the South East Regional Sales Manager, Gloria Ozakor ably represented by The South East Regional Account Partner, Mrs. Ruth Odilli, expressed the team's readiness to commence work immediately. She commended the Ebonyi State Government for its unwavering support and encouragement. Mrs. Odili assured that her team would work diligently to ensure the timely and successful implementation of the project.

The MTN team members participating in this initiative include Gloria Ozako, South East Regional Sales Manager, MTN Enterprise Business; Ruth Odili, South East Regional Account Partner; Osahon Ighodaro, South East Regional Corporate Account Partner; and Daniel Oni, Presales Engineer South East. Their combined expertise and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the seamless deployment of free Internet facilities in the designated locations.
