Gov. David Umahi Reduces Ebonyi State University Fees.
The State government has announced a reduction in the school fees paid by students of Ebonyi University. Governor David Nweze Umahi made the pronouncement during his official visit to the University at its permanent site Izhiamgbo.
EBBC correspondent reports that the fees was reduced by ten thousand naira and would be implemented from 2017 academic session. The Governor, who addressed a number of yearnings from staff and students, disclosed that the revised fees would take effect from the 2017 academic session and will be applicable to both indigenes and non-indigenes in all the eight faculties of the institution.
Governor Umahi however clarified that the new school fees regime was conditional on total eradication of cultism from the university by the students. He ordered immediate release of staff promotion results, but however observed that the university was overstaffed when compared to other universities in the South East.
