EBONYI GOVERNOR TO REBUILD BURNT HOUSES
Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi has promised to rebuild the houses burnt down by hoodlums within Izzi Local Government Area of the State and as well compensate families of the victims that were killed in the attack.
The Governor stated this while addressing journalists in a press conference in Government HouseAbakaliki. He expressed dismay over the level of destruction of human lives and properties recently ravaging the State and assured that perpetrators of this dastardly act must be made to face the consequences of their actions according to law.
Governor Umahi who accused politiciansof being responsible for the killings and burning down of houses called on the State Police Commissioner to dispossess politicianswho are not permitted by law to use police escort from doing so, stressing that politiciansuse the police to cover up illegal arms and ammunition. He appealed to the victims to be calm and resist any attempt for reprisal attack and promised to commence rebuilding of the burnt houses immediately after the elections.
The Governor assured Ebonyi indigenes that as the chief security officer of the State, he will do everything to ensure that election process will be free, fair and credible in Ebonyi State.
